Akagera National Park-Wildlife Tours in Rwanda
Akagera National park is located in the Eastern Part of Rwanda close to the border of Tanzania. The Park comprises of bio diversity i.e Savannah, montane and swamp habitats which inhabit various Wildlife animals i.e elephants, buffalos, giraffe, zebras, leopards, hyenas, lions as well as various antelopes like the bushbucks, Topis, Oribis, water-buck, roan antelope and duiker, bohor reedbuck, klipspringer, impala and eland.
It also comprises of River Kagera from which it derived its name. Amazing Boat cruises also occur in the park along Lake Ihema where you view Hippos and crocodiles.
The Park is prominently known to offer Wildlife Safaris to all travellers and require you to transfer from Kigali for a period 2 to 3 hours.
When to Visit the park
Akagera National Park can be visited any time around the year although we advise travellers to visit the Park during the Short rain and Dry season of the year.
How to get There
Akagera National Park can be accessed by use of both Road and Air depending on the preferences of the travellers in Rwanda.
